A Weird Day - Is It Marvelous (?)
Steve woke up this morning with the same flu-like stuff the kids and I had last month, so he stayed home from work today. I ran Audrey to school while Caleb and Julie stayed at home watching TV with strict directions for Caleb: 1 - don't mess with Julie; 2 - don't answer the door; 3 - leave Daddy alone because he's in bed. He did pretty well.
The pastor stopped by last night and we had a nice visit. He and his wife have 3 kids; 2 girls, 7 and 4, and a 3-year-old boy. It was a relaxed visit and didn't feel weird. It's strange how we've really just fit in with the church here. It feels the most like home out of everything we've expereinced here.
I'm finishing up laundry so I can pack for our week-long sojourn to points north and northwest. We'll head out tomorrow after lunch. The kids and I will get Steve from work and we'll go about 4 1/2 hours from there. Tomorrow night we're stopping at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on the east coast, then on Saturday we'll drive up a little to Alnwick to see another castle - the one used in the Harry Potter movies. Saturday night we'll go the rest of the way to Scotland and stay in Stirling for 3 nights. It's between (but slightly to the north of) Glasgow and Edinburgh. Tuesday we'll drive to Stranraer on the west coast and catch our ferry to Belfast. From Belfast, we'll drive to our hotel at the "gateway" to the Giant's Causeway. http://www.giantscausewayofficialguide.com/home.htm Here's one picture of some of the formations we'll see there. Pretty cool, huh?Wednesday we'll spend at the Causeway, then drive south to Dublin. Thursday will be spent in/around Dublin, then we'll spend Thursday night in Wexford. Friday morning we'll leave bright and early from Rosslaire and ride a ferry back to England - landing in Fishguard. From there, we'll come home.
I need to go now. My children need some attending to.
