A Marvelous Pizza
We had Papa John's pizza for dinner tonight. Very tasty! We got our normal pizza - pepperoni & pineapple. When we got the pizzas home we were perusing the menu that came with them and realized that it was rife for ridicule in this wonderful forum. So off we go!
The toppings are:
anchovies, bacon, chargrill chicken, Chinese chicken, chorizo, ground beef, ham, Italian style sausage, pepperoni, salami, sausage, spicy beef, tuna (!), black olives, cheese, chilli powder, green chilli peppers, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, red peppers, mushrooms, onions, red onions, pineapple, sweetcorn...
Now on to the unique ways in which the UK Papa John's has put these toppings together.
In addition to the normal pizzas (all meat, all veggie, Hawaiian, etc.), we have:
The Godfather - salami, chorizo, Italian style sausage, pepperoni
Kentucky BBQ - chargrill chicken, sausage, onions, sweetcorn, barbeque sauce
The Mexican (with a "very hot" notation) - spicy beef, onions, jalapeno peppers, red peppers, chilli powder
Oriental Chicken - Chinese chicken, green peppers, mushrooms, sweetcorn
The only other item for offer worth noting on the menu is the prawn side dish. They like their prawns over here. Caleb keeps asking, "what are prawns?" We keep telling him "shrimp" but I don't think he knows what shrimp are either. Anyway, they like their prawns over here - preferably cold. So these battered prawns were mildly surprising to see on a menu. Then we went on to the smaller print beside "Papa's Battered Prawns" and saw the garlic mayonnaise dip. Nasty sounding if you ask me.
Then I moved on to the tiny print at the bottom. Very interesting reading, indeed. My favorite 2 sentences:
1 - Our chicken products may contain traces of bones. (Steve said, "like we need to have any more reason to avoid ordering chicken on our pizza!")
2 - All our ham, desserts & ice cream may contain traces of nuts. (Ok - I get that desserts and ice cream would have nuts. But HAM? Eewww.)
So this was our dinner and evening entertainment.

Dude, you can get chorizo AND green chile there? Nice. Am I sick for thinking the garlic mayo dip sounded good?
To Anonymous:
1 - YES you're sick for the garlic mayo comment
2 - WHO are you?
To Sparky's Mom:
It is Prawn Coctail.
