Not Marvelous Night Happenings
Fireworks thugs strike again. This time at 4:30 a.m. Woke up our entire household. As I was laying in bed with Julie and the 2 big kids were on the floor on a palette, I wondered to myself how many other households were going through this. I think we'll ask our friends the O'Brians today at church if it woke them up. Steve wanted to call the police, but was unsure about how to go about it. Can't call the emergency number - 999 - since this isn't really an emergency. Maybe today we'll call the police station and just lodge a complaint and find out a procedure for next time. Surely though, somebody in our little square mile probably called the police.
I'm going to run to the kitchen quickly now and get a cuppa. Back in a mo.
I had an idea while I was getting my cuppa. I'm going to post a picture of Audrey and her bag and the contents of the bag. So when I came back into the lounge, I persuaded her to go get her bag.
Now comes the tricky part: getting her to acquiesce to my request. Steve says she reminds him of a true bag lady. One who shouts "Don't touch my cans!" if you get near her shopping cart full of old soda cans. This is the same way Audrey reacts when we want to examine the contents of her bag. Here goes...
The contents: 1 book, 1 dinosaur (Caleb's), 1 pair fluffy Blue's Clues houseshoes, 1 pair dress-up glass slippers, 1 pair water shoes, 1 pair sandals, 1 toy car, 2 pairs of leggings, 1 pair pink shoes, 1 pair rain boots, 5 pieces of paper in various wadded-up condition, 1 baggie with princess tissues, 1 pair tennis shoes, 3 Lego people (2 are Caleb's), 1 water bottle (full), 1 sunhat, 1 sock, 1 shirt, 1 pair underwear.
Then she cried when I told her Batman and Penguin Lego men couldn't go back in her bag because they don't belong to her. This means nothing to her. They came out of her bag just now, therefore they belong in her bag. They still belong to Caleb, but their place is in her bag.
I need to go now to shower for church. It takes fully 2 hours to get the 5 of us ready for church and out the door. *Sigh*

I find the content very interesting. It looks to me that she almost has her emergency disaster kit ready. :) Or perhaps a sleepover bag ready to go.
Never know when you will need that stuff on a moments notice.
What is shocking is the size of the bag. That is a mazing. I wonder how this is going to go down when y'all have to get on the plane to return home. ;) LOL.
On an after thought...I wonder if this is related to the "trauma" that she had when you packed up all of the kids toys and stuff and had it put alway before you left? Sorta serious about that. Wonder if she is trying to keep stuff in a safe haven so to speak.
I use the word "trauma" for lack of a better word. I do not think any of us young parents would have thought our kids would have had the response Audrey had to the preparation for a long stay away from home.
But of course I think that Audrey is just having fun for her age...like with Emily's imaginary friend, Nunnie. Who by the way still comes about once every blue moon.
Haha... this made me think of the "What's in Your Bag" group on Flickr! Check it out, it's weirdly interesting. Occasionally kid's bags pop up on there too, then Audrey will know what all the hip kids are carrying these days. http://www.flickr.com/groups/52241283780@N01/
Love the contents of Audrey's bag! Does she every take anything out to use it?
