It's Getting Harder to Think of Marvelous New Titles
Spent the day hanging out here. We walked down to the library and it was so chilly that we had to wear long pants and sweatshirts. It was windy as well.
We've discovered that the local butcher doesn't have cube steak. They had flash fry steak, which we were told was the same, but it turned out to be thin cuts off something resembling a brisket. Steve chicken fried it anyway.
We are going to have our first experience with grocery delivery on Monday. I went on the Sainbury's website this afternoon and did my shopping. I got everything from produce to milk, meat to frozen stuff, scones to diapers.
I'm trying now to figure out our trip to Ireland and Scotland. I am such a tightwad that it's hard for me to pry open my fist to use our money for this "family holiday." I keep trying to get Steve down here to encourage me to actually book something, but he keeps disappearing with his library books. That's irritating, but can I complain? He's the one who keeps popping the binky in Julie's mouth when she stirs.
I'm going to try for more pictures now. How about Warw
ick Castle?
This turrett is the one we later climbed.
This is the dragon Caleb was enamored with, but who scared Audrey.

Helmets to try on. Note Audrey's "Birthday Girl" badge.

View from the top. Audrey and Caleb climbed all the steps up the dark, narrow, very steep spiral staircase without complaining or whining. They were just so excited!
So now the website is being cranky. Much like Audrey. One more Audrey story before I sign off. At the library today, she came trotting up to us with 2 books. She was so excited and said, "Look Mommy! I've found my books!" We looked down and saw an Eric Carle book about a seahorse and a "Wind in the Willows" treasury. The same treasury that I returned yesterday. I told her this and she said, "No it's not!" Steve said, "Audrey, we've already read this book," to which she adamantly, loudly, and matter-of-factly said, "No. This is a new book."
Weird side note. Know that Febreeze commercial where the 2 couples are playing charades and the one husband is laying on the floor smelling the carpet? I just saw that with all British accents. Same video, different audio.
Speaking of British accents, I'm starting to hear a difference in Audrey's speech. Her inflection with questions is different than American inflections. When we ask questions, the tone usually goes up at the end of the question. Say this out loud: "Can I have some?" She doesn't say it like the other 3 speaking members of our clan do. She puts the emphasis on the next to last word then does a little lilting thing with the last word. All this to say that I'm hearing a different inflection in her questions.

Wow that castle reminds me of Monty Python. "come back again and I shall taunt you a second time." with a good
cheesy french accent. ;)
"Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of ELDERBERRIES!"
Dude... go to Ireland. How often will you be so close? Plus the candy's really good. :)
With world is going y'all might get back there in a long time or ever.
Get to Ireland and Scotland.
Remember it has been 10yrs since we left NZ and we have not returned even though we have had good intentions.
Wales is not that far either come to think about it.
My sentiments exactally!! What if you come home and decide to go back later? What expense then? Go for it now!!

How can you not go kiss the blarney stone
Did you get the helmet for Audrey? Because she might be unstoppable if she had a helmet.
