Tuesday is Semi-Marvelous

I haven't taken the time to work on the missing week yet (last week - July 3 through 7). Sorry. But I'll write about today. How's that?

Living with 1 vehicle for the whole family is challenging. And we don't even have teenagers! Four of the 5 of us end up in different places, and I'm the one who gets to drive. I almost bought a little sign for the van that said, "Mum's Taxi Service." It was pink (of course).

First to be delivered today was Caleb to school at 8:45. Then Steve to work. It takes 25 minutes to get him there. At 10:30 I took Audrey to DD (Dickory Docks - her school) for her 2 hour appointment. She did fine. No crying at all. I was very happy to hear that report when I came to get her later. Then Julie and I went shopping at the Mothercare store. It has stuff for everybody but Dad. I got Audrey's b-day presents there: a pink tutu and leotard and pink espadrilles to use as dance shoes (from me and Steve), a hot pink shirt (from Julie who also got a matching shirt), and a talking Peppa Pig doll from Caleb. Have I mentioned Peppa Pig? I know that her show is now on Cartoon Network in the mornings when they show little kid shows, but it started here in England. We watched it while we were in the cottage and Audrey fell in love with Peppa.

I actually am getting some laundry done today. It's a bright, sunny, warm day so things are drying quite nicely. The hang-up is getting the clothes washed - it still takes 2 hours, rain or shine.

Caleb had another good day at school. He hasn't divulged any details yet, but he wasn't crying when I picked him up and Miss Pells didn't mention any earth-shattering events, so I'm assuming the best.

The TV front is frustrating. Grrr. I don't even want to go into that.

All in all a pretty uneventful day. Yesterday when we got home from picking everybody up, there was an invitation for coffee that had been slipped through our mail slot. It is from a lady we met at church who lives just a couple of doors down. It's for 10:30 tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

As for bank accounts: I found out yesterday that before they will even talk to me about opening a bank account, I have to bring in a bill addressed to us at this address. I can't use a confirmation of service, it has to be an actual bill. I don't know what further hoops they will put in front of me before we can actually open an account. Do you think a big wad of cash would make a difference? I doubt it.

Time to go now. I let the kids take an afternoon bath to while away the time and now they're done. I'm sitting in the hall outside the bathroom watching them, in case anyone thinks I'm neglecting my children.

Later - April

Sounds really busy to us. Can't believe you accomplish as much as you do!
We look forward to all of the news and can't believe that in the near future, we will be able to join the excitement.
Caleb's looks so much like Jarrett in his uniform!!!! It is sad to know that he is old enough go to school, but we wouldn't want him to miss out on the adventures of being a growing boy in an exciting world!
