"Marvelous," she said sarcastically and resignedly
Julie threw up in the car. We had dropped off Steve at work and were halfway to Audrey's school when Caleb announced, "Julie threw up big. It stinks!" Less than 20 seconds later he announced she had done it again. I think it was 3 times in all. We pulled over at the first convenient place and I let the big kids get out of the van while I did my best to contain the mess. Fortunately I had brought the diaper bag with me and it was fully stocked. So Julie got a change of clothes and plastic bags were utilized for further containment. I got Audrey dropped off at school and then made our way home as fast as was legal.
I got the carseat out of the van and disassembled it. Various parts are now in the washer. I just hope I can get it washed and dried before we have to go get Audrey. Parts of the seat itself can't be removed and I had to wash it in the sink in the garage/beauty shop/laundry room. I'm glad we have that weird facility.
She's in her crib now resting. I fed her again and she's happy as a clam. I sneaked out of her room one slow step at a time. I don't think she noticed that I'm gone yet. I've heard her cry out a couple of times, but I think it was because she lost her binky, but since they crying wasn't prolonged, she probably found it and replaced it.
Caleb starts back to school tomorrow. I'm going to call the office today and see if there are any school supplies he needs. I know he needs a smock, but other than that I'm unsure. He didn't mention anything last term about crayons or pencils or markers or anything like that. So I'll check today.
I'm needing some caffeinated fortification. More later.
Oh - before I forget...we had to clear out one of Audrey's bags this morning so we could get a change of clothes in it for school. Steve did the honors. What I remember coming out of it were:
3 full water bottles
2 crumpled up pieces of paper
2 folded pieces of paper
1 balloon dog (still intact - more on this later)
all of her toy cars - about 8
a couple of Barbies
2 pairs of shoes
3 of Julie's toys
1 of Caleb's dirty socks
1 little purple purse full of other stuff
2 crumpled birthday cards
These are just the items I remember. I managed to keep her out of our bedroom this morning since all this stuff is on our bed. She was upset that her balloon dog wasn't in her bag and I told her to go look for it downstairs. After she went down and had breakfast, she came back up while I was drying my hair. She spied all her stuff on her bed and was about to reclaim it all when I told her to go tell Daddy that she found her stuff. This distracted her enough that she forgot to come back up and get her stuff.
Julie's crying now.

The balloon dog sounds intriguing.
Bags within bags... she's expanding. Soon you'll find tiny bags inside the purses inside the bags!
