Updates on various infirm people I know
1 - Julie is much better. No spots, no fever, no puking, appetite and personality returned 100%.
2 - Audrey is some better. Spots remain, no fever, no puking, full appetite and personality returned.
3 - Caleb is sick. No spots, has fever, no puking yet, sleeping in my bed in a fleece hoodie, long pants, and socks underneath his sleeping blanket and my comforter. This should be an interesting night.
4 - Steve is sleeping in Caleb's room on clean sheets since he's susceptible to germs thanks to one of the 5 meds he's on. He also said that the Novocaine hasn't fully worn off yet. Yikes.
5 - Jarrett's shoulder was x-rayed yesterday (Switzerland's yesterday, probably our today early morning) and I don't know what was done about that. He had been bleeding again from his ear as of Sunday, but the docs didn't know if brain fluid was mixed with that. As of late last night (again, Zurich time) the oozing out of the ear had stopped. The docs are all talking like they want to release him, but as of yet nobody has done anything. Connor & Alan will fly out of Africa to Paris as per their original pre-accident plans on Thursday, then will leave out Sunday for the US.
6 - I'm depressed. I have 1 sick kid, 1 sick-looking kid, 1 toddler with delusions of grandeur, a house in shambles, a husband out of commission, and a bad haircut. On a positive note, the pink hair is still wonderful and makes me smile. So I guess it can't be that bad. But on the other hand, I found out today that a friend of mine has rented out the movie theater for Saturday morning for a private viewing of the latest Harry Potter movie. I was invited (yay!) but can't go (drat!) because I will be in Abilene, having just sent my children off on their merry way with my parents for a few days in Tx.
It's 8:51 p.m. and all is quiet here. No TV sounds, no children, no cat, no laundry, no husband...it's very quiet. The swamp cooler and ticking of my 2 clocks are all I'm hearing at the moment. Oops - Caleb is talking in his sleep in the next room. I'm going to sign off and go read my book before it gets too late (unlike I foolishly did last night).
