Marvelous Adventures in our Front Yard

Yesterday while on the phone, I peeked out the front door and was surprised to see some lovely orange & yellow tulips beginning to bloom. Then I saw a bird fly out of a bush above the tulips. I decided to go out and investigate because I have seen birds around this bush for about a month now and I wanted to see if I could find their nest. I found it! It's no bigger than my fist and it's home to 4 fuzzy ugly baby birds. But they're also cute. Their heads are no bigger than the tip of my pinky finger and when they open their mouths for mommy bird to feed, they all put their little heads together with their beaks up in the air. Very cool.

I got both big kids out there to show them (the nest is at my chest height) and then I videoed the baby birds. I'm going to video them again this afternoon so we can watch their growth over the next few days.

Soccer is again this afternoon - both bid kiddos are excited. Caleb to practice soccer and Audrey to play on the playground. Steve will try to meet us there again.

We have an appointment for Jujube's 3-month pictures tomorrow at Sears. I'm going to take all 3 kids and put them in their Easter finery.

I'm going to go for a minute - I hear little birdies...

Wrong birdies. They were the across-the-street birdies. Our birdies were fast asleep.

So now I'm going to go for the evening. I have to wake up Audrey and get a snack in the kids before soccer in 40 minutes.

:)
