Grrr..."Marvelous" Househunting Adventures
What a pain in the neck! I'm literally sifting through about a hundred websites looking at places to live in England. I think I'd rather just wait until we get there. There seems to be no shortage of furnished homes, so I'm not worried about not finding a place.
It's just so hard to look at pictures of a home thousands of miles away. I know it's short-term, but does the house stink? I mean literally? Does the house smell bad? What do they consider "furnished"? There's "furnished," "part-furnished," and "fully furnished." What's the difference between "furnished" and "fully furnished"? One website said thier properties don't have cutlery, crockery, linens, etc. What's "etc."?
I'd rather just go and see with my own eyes.
On to another topic - Caleb. Liz took some pictures of him for her journalism class at NMSU. Here are some of the pics she did. They're wonderful!

These 3 are my favorites. I have the bottom one set as my desktop picture.
I'm going to go now. I need a shower and some coffee. Then I'll get back to work on my house. I have a "to do" list that is obscenely long.

April,
I think your thinking is straight and good. Just try to
have some lined up to look at once you
get there. That way you have a place to start at and you can work from there. You for sure do not want to spend 6 months in a place you do not like or
makes you miserable....stink included.
It is easier to tell what you are getting once you
are there.
Gwen was miserable the first six months in NZ due
getting a place that was not to our liking. Since she
had to spend most of her time there and I did not.. so it took it toll on her. Once she found a place she liked then life there was so much better for both of us.
The pics from Liz are great.
I think after the project I am going to go ahead and give you all the photos. :)
