Good News/Tense News
Good news first: I got back a response from "Today's Christian Woman" and they want to read my manuscript about Caleb & the pencil bully! Yay! I'm almost published now. I need to do a bit of fine tuning, but I think it's pretty much done. Wow - that was fast! Just 2 weeks from me mailing the query letter to their first response. Maybe this is a good sign.
Tense news: Walt, or "Twin A" as he's referred to in the NICU will be having surgery today to close a small hole in his heart. This procedure is somewhat routine, as all babies in the womb have this hole. It just usually closes up before a full-term baby is born. John's is closed. So if you're reading this on Tuesday, October 9, please pray for the surgery. The other concern right now is a brain bleed. This could potentially lead to developmental problems down the road. But it's not set in stone that Walt *will* have developmental problems because he has a brain bleed. It could affect nothing. So please pray that his little body will heal itself and he will have no long-term effects of the brain bleed. This is another common problem in preemies. But the good news is that he's "eating" via his feeding tube 6ccs of milk every few hours. So he's getting good food! John is not on food right now to let his little innards heal from his perforated bowel surgery last week.
When I was there this weekend, I got to see Laura and Aaron hold John for the first time. It was pretty amazing. They are going to be great parents. They already *are* great parents.
I need to go now. I haven't put my face on yet and I have Bible study here in a bit.
