SO CLOSE!
This morning the scale read 200.0. I took off all clothing that was decent to remove to get to that number. So close! I want the first digit to be a 1!!
I went to my first writers' group last night and came away very encouraged. I'm going to work up individual bits and pieces of the blog for magazine articles. The pink hat tantrums in Paris will be my first. I'd like to have a few pieces worked up and circulating among several magazines. I envisioned 6 articles and 6 magazines. So when "Pink Hats in Paris" is rejected by Woman's Day, I can send it to the next magazine on the list and send "Conkers" to Woman's Day. So I'll either have the articles trickling down the list of magazines, or I'll have each article start at a different magazine and then rotate when rejections come.
I like the idea of rotating the articles, but that means I need to have 6 ready at once. But maybe not...as I sit here thinking, it hit me that there will be time to write after I send my first piece in. Apparently there's a fairly long window (2+ months) of waiting to see if your piece has been accepted or rejected.
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. I'm excited and my thoughts are chasing each other around my brain. One thing I decided last night was that I'm going to get away from the laptop to write. I'll print out the whole Paris trip from my blog, but then I'll actually put pen to paper when I start writing. After I get a coherent piece I'll come back to the computer. The idea of physically writing like I did as a kid struck something in my heart. So today at Wal-Mart I'll get some yellow pads. One time I found yellow pads with pink paper. I wonder if I could find those again? That was cool.
And I've decided on a new positive nickname for Audrey: my little muse.

I love that soon, I'll be reading about your precious kids in magazines! How fun! Your writing is wonderful. I know this next step of getting it polished and sending it out will be a lot of work, but I'm so proud of you for doing it. I have "yellow pads" that are a very pretty purple. It inspires me much more than the bright yellow or white.
They make great "yellow" pads that are actually pastels of the rainbow on each page. Those are my favorite! They should also help inspire some happy thoughts! Can't wait to read the articles!
Wouldn't that make them pink pads? And pretty purple pads? And pastel pads? Hmm.
We will all enjoy reading your published works and will tell everyone that we read your work back when...
