Coattail Rider?

I have been watching the Fox TV show "On The Lot" since early July. The only reason I was faithfully watching this reality/talent search show was because I knew one of the filmmaker contestants.

When I was in Canyon in early July, I read in "The Canyon News" that a former CHS alum, Will Bigham, was on the show. Since his mom was a favorite teacher of mine in High School, I decided to tune in to see what the deal was.

Surprisingly enough, I found myself rooting for Will. His short films were funny and family-friendly. I even voted for him after a couple of episodes.

Anyway, as the contestants were slowly whittled down, Will kept making the cut. Last week he was in the top 3 going into the final episode.

Long story short, Will won this week. He gets a $1,000,000 contract with Dreamworks with Stephen Spielberg as his boss. How cool is that? So I'm playing the "I knew him back when" card. And I did know him back when. I think he was in the little know of band geeks I headed up as a senior. He would have been a freshman that year.

Very awesome, Will. Congrats.
