Who Da Man?

I da man!

I figured out how to remove that obnoxious magenta color from the sides of my blog. Pretty good for a girl that knows zero HTML!

I hope this is easier on your eyes. I know it is on mine.

On to other things. Namely, Audrey's activities. Will that girl ever NOT provide me with things to talk about? When we got back home from England, she rediscovered all of her hair "clippies" and other things. She wants to grow her hair out long like her cousin Grace's. She's enamored of Grace's long hair. This is actually a good thing, since I can threaten to cut her hair short if she doesn't let me brush it.

Anyway, Steve came out of her room last night stifling laughter after his pre-going-to-bed rounds. She had put all of the hair clips she could find into her hair and had gone to sleep. To her credit, she got the same number put in on each side. Here are pictures of her from this morning.
There were 12 clips in all.

By the time I got out of the shower and dressed, she was down to one and it was just dangling. I went to an Usborne book show (home-based business), then went to the gym to get "orientated" on the weight machines. I know orientated isn't a real word, but they use it in England and I think it's funny. Anyway, when I got home almost 3 hours later, the lone clip was still dangling. Impressive little clippy.

Last night we watched "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Brothers Grimm." I don't think Steve liked either flick, but I laughed and laughed at "Little Miss Sunshine." Dark comedy, in case you're wondering. I had seen half of it on the plane home from England, and had wanted to finish it, so I rented it.

The other movie I recorded on our DVR from Dish. Those DVRs are darn convenient. I record several things with regularity ("Between the Lions" and "Avatar" for the kids, "NCIS" and "CSI" for me) and more things without regularity - mostly movies since we're enjoying 3 free months of Starz.

Anyway, I had been curious about "Bros. Grimm" since I'm a fan of both Matt Damon and Heath Ledger. Even post-"Brokeback Mountain" I'm a fan. I didn't see that one, and I doubt I will, but I enjoy Heath Ledger movies. This one was weird.

I will have dreams occasionally that seem to me would be cool if they were a movie. I always think after one of these dreams, "I should write that down!" but I never do. I never think that my weird mish-mashed subconscious thoughts would make a decent screenplay, let alone a movie. I think someone had that type of dream-to-movie experience and "Bros. Grimm" was the result. Talk about a mish-mash. I enjoyed it on the camp factor alone, but Steve said it wasn't worth the free DVR space I had used to record it.

I'm going to go now and kick Steve off the Nintendo. I want to watch TV and sort through some junk that I'm going to put in a resale. Other people's money for my junk. Can't beat that!

I guess that this wouldn't be a good time to tell you that Grace wants to cut her hair short so that the curls will come back and look like Audrey's! As the mother, I have said no. I think that I would cry if I cut off all of that beautiful hair. Last time that I measured it, I put it in a low ponytail and the ponytail was 13 inches long with plenty left for a hairdo! Pretty soon, the humidity will be back up here and she will have her "curlies" again1
