I Went For A Walk...On A Winter's Day
Walked Caleb to school this morning. Not unusual for our previous country of residence, but not so common here. I loaded all 3 kids into the double stroller: Jules in the front seat, Caleb in the back seat, and Auddie standing behind the back seat on the back bar of the under-seat basket leaning back on my handlebars. It works pretty well - even going uphill. I figure it's a good workout. I
'm disgusted with the pedometer I bought this weekend at Target. It's extra sensitive, so it counts extra steps when my wobbly bits wobble after a step. Grrr. And here I was thinking I had walked 12,346 steps yesterday. I guess I'll sell it on eBay since I've already ditched all the packaging and I'll just say something like "don't buy this if you have wobbly bits."
I didn't get around to vacuuming yesterday, so my carpet is still filty, according to my new Kenmore. I guess I'll do it when Julie is napping. She slept through it last time. But it will have to be after we paint Audrey's nails. I've been promising her for a few days now.
So I'll post again after I vacuum. And after I read. I started reading a book from my youth, "Fire and Hemlock" by Diana Wynn Jones. Little Brother and I got turned on to her books quite by luck in junior high. She's the author who wrote "Howl's Moving Castle" before the Japanimators got hold of it and re-wrote the story with the weird black blobs and the not-in-the-book war. Well, the war was in the book, but not like they portrayed it. The movie was fine, but it wasn't "Howl's Moving Castle." Anyway, I'm getting close to the end of "F&H" and minor details seem to be making more sense since it's set in England and I'm now familiar with the vernacular. It's one of those books I get sucked into and *have* to finish.
So I'll put Julie down for a nap, paint Audrey's fingernails, ignore the vacuuming until this afternoon, and take a bath and read. I need to knock the stink off since the walk to/from school was sweaty even though it's cold out.
Ta!
