A Marvelous Weekend

Whew! We had quite a weekend!

Friday was Steve's day off. He had suggested a trip to the zoo the week before, so we went on the day off. We told the kids it was for Caleb's b-day. We had both strollers, which helped corral kids, but the double was a pain to push. As usual. But I'd rather do that than have whiney kids.

The best part was that NOBODY got sunburned, despite the fact that we were there from 1-4 p.m. on a very sunny day! I think everyone's favorite animal was the polar bear. We got to see it swimming and playing as the last thing before we left.

They also wanted to sit in the chair in "King's Park" in the Africa section. Here they are being King and Queen. Notice Caleb's "king face."

The zoo train was also a big hit - partially because the kids spent their own money to buy their tickets. Well, Caleb did, but Audrey was free. Julie and I stayed behind in the shade with the strollers and waited for them to return.

Saturday we stayed home and did some housework. It was very nice to stay home and not have to be anywhere to do anything. I gave Audrey a haircut. Thankfully her hair is starting to be more curly, so the little mistakes aren't as apparent. She looks very cute!

Sunday we all took nice long naps. It was a very calm, restful Mother's Day.

Oh! I almost forgot - Caleb's Gameboy arrived on Saturday, along with Steve's. The boys spent the weekend playing various games. Audrey is a little miffed that she didn't get a "Boy Game" but Steve is sharing his with her (as per our original plan), and Caleb is sharing his games. He took the Gameboy and the Pokemon game to school today for show and tell. He also took some cookies to share with his school buddies for his birthday.

My "to do" list beckons.
