Wednesday's Marvelous Adventures

Steve ran into Caleb’s Sunday School teacher yesterday and found out that he shared at church last week. When she asked what rules the kids have at their houses, Caleb volunteered “We don’t throw our stuffies into lamps” and then proceeded to tell her the story, crying the whole time. She thought she might cry or that she might have to come get one of us, but then he calmed down. They prayed that his Nana would find him a new T-Rex, but he said that even if she did, he wouldn’t be able to love it like the old one.

How sad is that?

So I’m in negotiations with Steve about timing for Paddington II. Apparently Nana said something to the effect of "stuffies can be replaced" while they were on the phone immediately post-dino-BBQ and Caleb construed that to mean that Nana was going to replace it. She is, by the way. She found Paddington T-Rex Nolen's long lost brother online and he is on his way to her house. We were thinking that she would hold Paddington II until Christmas, but the Sunday School discussion has swayed us a bit to move the reunion up a bit.

We also painted today. They got "kids' choice" today and they chose to play outside with sidewalk chalk, then they finished up their projects from yesterday - his was a mask and hers was a mermaid paper chain. They got to paint today. Painting is always fun for them, but work for me. Lots of supervision needed.

So we're going to have Indian food tonight. Steve brought back a couple of jars of Tikka Masala sauce from Sainsbury's grocery store. It will be nice! But we don't have any naan bread - that's a bummer, but we'll live.

Speaking of food, I lost 2 pounds from Monday. I gained those 2 pounds when I went to Amarillo last week. So I'm officially down 23 pounds from this time last year. Twenty-three down, 56 to go. But my immediate goal is 6 pounds by my birthday - July 16. That would be really cool. Plus I'd be down under a "major number." Should I tell you? I don't know. When I get there, maybe I'll tell you the number. Then I won't be that number any more and it will be nice to be under that number.

Enough with numbers.

Swimming lessons are going well. Audrey tells me about every 5 minutes "I love my swimming class!" and Caleb is so busy swimming/playing that he doesn't even talk to me. He did a back flop today and experienced the joy/pain of that move for the first time.

On the way to swim lessons we had a flat tire on the stroller. I had to kick out the big kids and only let Jules ride. The kids had been taking turns riding, but they had to walk about 1/3 of the way there and the whole way home. I need to get a new tire or a patch kit because it's totally flat. It was such a pain trying to push it home.

Hmmmm....anything else? Big news from my little brother, but until I have his permission to post it here, I'm going to refrain. But it's killing me not to post it! Maybe soon...

I think that's it. I'm listening to Dave Ramsey ream somebody for "misplacing" $7000. It's amusing. Glad it's not me - either misplacing $7k or getting reamed on national radio in front of millions of people.

I'm going to post a few pictures of how cute my kids were on the first day of VBS.

Can you send some of that weight this way?

Laura needs to gain 35 - 55 pounds, according to the doctor. She has to put on all that weight to take care of (drumroll, please.....)

Twins! We saw both of them on the sonogram today. We also clearly saw the membrane separating them, so we know that they are fraternal.

It is so rewarding to see your own kids as adults, and especially as parents. Thanks for who you are---all four of you!
