Is No Place Sacred?

My daughter. I wish you could have seen her. The following description will *not* do justice to the actual events.

We were at church.

It was Children's Time during the service - when Pastor Chuck asks all the boys and girls to join him at the front. And my kids sprint up there, which is funny enough. But this morning, as I was walking behind them, Audrey starts saying very loudly, "But I don't want you to come with me! I want to go by myself!" Yeah right - like *that's* ever gonna happen. I'm telling her while we're walking, (actually, while *I'm* walking and she's running) that I'm not going up there with her, but with Julie, which is close enough to the truth because I'm carrying Julie. She proceeds to say "I want to go by myself!" about 5 more times before we get all the way up there, then when we get up to the front of the sanctuary, she says, "I want to sit by you."

WHAT?

About half of the congregation has heard all this and I hope they got full enjoyment out of it. I couldn't enjoy it because I was the mom, and as we all know, the mom has to remain cool and detached, even when she wants to laugh.

As if this weren't enough, when the children's time is over, the kids go up the center aisle to their classes. But not Audrey. Audrey doesn't just "go." She has this walk she does...it's kind of a cross between a shimmy and a prance with a touch of slink thrown in. It's like she's on a catwalk. The funniest thing is that she's not paying attention to anyone. She's not showing off or anything! It's just her being Audrey. And it was adorable.

She did something else today in the car that was really funny, but I can't remember what it was and Steve isn't here to remind me. So that's it.
