Another Go At Pictures...And An Update

First the update...

As I stated in the previous post, I felt the need to "do something" exercise-wise. So I decided to jump rope.

I couldn't find my jump rope DVD. Apparently I need a DVD in order to jump rope, so instead I decided to march in place/jump/wiggle/whatever while I was watching last night's recorded episode of "Without a Trace." So I marched, jumped, wiggled, whatevered (dance-type whatever mostly) for about 20-25 minutes. I added a couple thousand more steps to my pedometer reading and my silly little effort was rewarded when I got on the scale before I showered.

Totally starkers, I weighed 193.3 - despite all of the Halloween chocolate I've been enjoying over the last week.

So if you're trying to lose weight, I have 3 suggestions:

1 - get a GOOD pedometer. Not one of those crappy $0.99 ones off eBay...get a good one. I have an Omron Walking Style and it rocks! It tells me not only how many steps I've taken, but how many of those steps were aerobic (worth more exercise points in Weight Watchers).

2 - write down everything you eat. It works. I resisted this for 15 years but when I finally started doing it consistently, I found success.

3 - get a GOOD pair of walking shoes. I found some that fix my particular foot issue (overpronation) and they are FABULOUS. Plus they didn't cost an arm and a leg - just a leg.

Now I will try to post pictures.

Me and AuddieBelle making gingerbread last week. YUM!

Little Miss Attitude a.k.a. my Muse. She was a pumpkin (like her itty bitty cousin Walt) at school but a unicorn Friday night for Trick or Treat on Main Street here.
Julie-Kat. When we called her our little kitty, she said, "NO! I Julie!" Her cousin John was a black cat, too.

The Haul. This was after Friday night. We got 7 pounds that night and 4 more pounds on Wednesday night. Eleven pounds in all, mostly chocolate.

I use motion control inserts (for overpronation) in all of my non-athletic shoes--for yard work, hunting, even at work. It makes a big difference in my comfort level and wards off problems.
